A Different Kind Of Beautiful
Nothing quite like "A Different Kind of Beautiful" has ever been heard before. The music shimmers with unusual and interesting sounds, instruments and arrangements. Most of the album is made up of original material, much of which was written by Tricia, and her producer Andrew Holdsworth. Vibrant Celtic-pop tracks, such as "And She Danced" and "A Different Kind of Beautiful" contrast with unusual interpretations of classics, such as a funky-pop version of "All I Want" by Joni Mitchell and a rich, orchestral version of "Forever Young" by Bob Dylan. Tricia's extraordinarily pure, haunting voice is the perfect instrument for her beautiful Gaelic versions of "I Don't Wanna Talk About It" and "Lullaby", and she is equally at home with the ambient beats of "Try" as the stripped down live acoustic recording of "The Death of Love". The eighteen musicians on "A Different Kind of Beautiful" have played with a huge range of artists from Kate Bush to Sheryl Crow, George Michael to The Spice Girls and Mary Black to Robbie Williams. All of the tracks were mixed at Lisa Stansfield's amazing "Gracieland" studio in Rochdale.
